The artificial matting arrived this week, it weighs a lot and is safely stored in the ‘garage’ at Malleson road. The ‘cradle/trolley’ arrives next week, which meas that when we use it we can wheel it over to the net area and back thus keeping it it in good condition and protecting our backs at the same time. The galvanised steel sockets (a bit like what you have for football goalposts) will be collected next week and Paul New has kindley agreed to sink all 12 for us. (6 alongside existing concrete net area, and 6 either on a new ’strip’ adjacent to the bottom end of the square or possibly even on the square as they are capped and marginally below the surface, Neal Radford is going to do a site visit to advise. Finally the 6 netting poles and ‘winch’ and nets will arrive in circa 2-3 weeks which means we could have nets ready to use by middle to end of May. We will need everybody to chip in a bit to get the most out of this, ie carry equipment out and back, and agree net times, currently looking at 6-7pm on a Friday, let me know how that suits because we need enough numbers to make it work. The system is the radford ezynet if you want to look it up. Rob Sharp
